Prompt: It was a peaceful night time on the island but you couldn’t go to sleep. Not without Owen.
Your pillows did not feel comfortable at all. As you continued to lie down, you swore the pillows started to feel like cement. You looked at the clock on the dresser beside your bed and sighed when you realized that you had been trying to fall asleep for two hours. You finally sat up when you started to have a headache. You felt restless. You scratched your head, you messed up your own hair and you even stretched. Nothing made you fall asleep. You could only yawn but not fall asleep.
Your bed felt empty. So you got off and walked out of the bungalow that you and Owen had shared. You missed him dearly. He had spent the past two days with his raptors because one of them got sick. And you were also sick and he explained that he didn’t want whatever sickness to spread to everyone. Owen apologized many times before he left and during his whole shift on your walkie-talkies. You were quite sad when your walkie-talkie started to lose signal due to low battery. You missed his sudden messages. Most were sweet. A couple were for your ears only. The memory made you blush. Oh, how you missed him.
You just wanted to snuggle into his arms. You wanted to feel his warmth surround you. You wanted to smell his unique scent that always somehow calmed you down. You wanted to hear his soft humming of whatever song you requested.
Owen promised to come back with a fresh set of batteries as soon as his shift was over. But it seemed like he decided to stay at the raptor preserve another night. You understood. You weren’t mad because you both loved your jobs. But it had been two days without him and you felt like you could not sleep until your body just needed to shut down.
You sat on a hammock that you had bugged Owen to make for ages. You lied down and started to admire all the stares in the night sky. On the island, there was far less pollution that in the big cities. You appreciated the little things and began to count all the stars you could see. Maybe one of them will grant you your wish of seeing your lover.

Owen’s bike broke though luckily he only had to walk a third of the way with his bike. He swore that when he got back home, you’d be there angry at him for being so late. He could see the fight now; how did he manage to become part of the navy with this kind of punctuality?
Since his bike broke, there was no warning that he had finally arrived. He contemplated on just sleeping outside knowing that when you did sleep, it was a deep sleep. He could just have morning apologetic snuggles. But then he noticed that you were outside. And talking aloud at the stars.
“He’s amazing and I’m really glad I have him. I mean he’s goofy all the time but he’s also just so thoughtful and sweet...I just wish....wish that he was here...”
Owen’s smile was genuinely wide when he heard those words. You were always so shy about your feelings so hearing this was nice.
“Y/N?” he said softly. “I’m home....”
You looked back at him surprised. You surprised him by quickly getting up and tackling him in a tight embrace. This caught him off guard and both of you fell down in the dirt.
“Miss me that much huh?” he laughed.
“Yes.” you said simply while hugging him tighter. Owen sat up and adjusted you so that you sat comfortably on his lap on the ground.
“Still can’t sleep?” he asked while stroking the dark circles underneath your eyes.
“Well, with you around, I think you can do something for me.” you said cheekily.
“I’m all yours.”

The DNA Inside - Chapter 14 - Eggshells
As soon as you were back on your feet you and Owen made another plan. You and Owen seemed to be devising plans a lot lately. It was becoming a bad habit. Before you could really talk about it, there was a rapid knocking on your bedroom door. Owen got up and went to answer it, despite your protests. You knew whoever was there was going to get the wrong idea. Owen had taken his shirt off because it was too hot, even with your window as far open as you could get it. He opened the door, his face, his arms and his chest were covered in sweat from the heat. A lab worker, more specifically Dr Trotter, took one look and tried to apologise for disturb

The DNA Inside - Chapter 15 - Shadows
You sat in the shadows of the cold, dark room. You had been there for around an hour, nothing so far. It was getting increasingly colder as the night progressed. You ended up huddling with Owen for warmth. Owen seemed to be incredibly focused for the first hour and a half, and then he started to get bored and ended up trying to mess with you. His arm was looped around your waist, resting on your side to keep you warm, but occasionally his hand would slip too far down or move too far up and you'd have to slap his hand back to its original position. “Owen. I don't think this is the time for your missing about.” You complained in a w

The DNA Inside - Chapter 16 - Managers
A/N; sorry it took so long to update! I've been pretty busy with work.
Your brief moment of happiness was over too soon. Your shift ended and everyone was called to the meeting room by Jim. You and Owen took a seat next to each other; you were nervously biting your lip and looking around the room. Owen gently took your hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. You tried to relax. Neither of you liked Jim, upon discovering what he did. You subconsciously scratched at the hole in your neck that the needle had left.
“Now, if everybody is here…” Jim said suddenly. You snapped your attention back to him. “The park re-opens t

Note: This is my first non Marvel short fic. I just remembered how badly I wanted to write for Owen after watching the movie but I had no laptop but NOW HOLY EFFIN DAMN. I need to get this out of my system. Enjoy the goofy but self-confident Owen. Cause gosh I am infatuated as all hell. I’ll write a more eventful one at some point. When more time has passed. And no spoilers. You an Owen are both working on the island and you live together.
Written because I read some adorable goofy fics but I am too sleepy to think of sarcasm right now XD Plus, cuddling sounds so nice right now :c

I love how you do your fanfics.
i like how you bring out the sweet side to all characters, even the ones that seem the hard-corest survival bro.
